The School of New Opportunities, based in Manresa and with an important presence in the Central Counties, has helped a thousand young people to finish their studies or to enter the world of work during its ten years of existence. The FAR, managed by the AMPANS Foundation in alliance with Intermedia, celebrates ten years of activity this spring and is a benchmark centre in the accompaniment and guidance of young people in vulnerable situations who are offered tools to resume their studies, to enter the labour market or to help them define their life project.

Networking

In these ten years, of the more than 2,300 people assisted, a total of 523 young people have obtained a work contract and 553 have returned to the education system to continue with their training. This academic year 2024-2025 a total of 280 young people will be assisted in order to guide and accompany them in their life journey. AMPANS highlights the value of this entire trajectory and points out the network of referral agents that is essential for detecting and accompanying all this young talent. These are the families themselves, the surrounding schools and educational centres, the Juvenile Justice programme, the Adult Mental Health Centres and the Social Services and third sector entities that have worked together and in a network to offer coordinated accompaniment adapted to the reality of each young person.

The active role of the companies involved is also one of the pillars of the project’s success. During these ten years and thanks to their involvement, more than 500 visits have been made to companies to learn about specific activities and more than 800 training placements have been provided in sectors such as industry, services, commerce, hospitality and personal care, offering a first real work experience.
