This edition introduces significant new features: a single category and increased prize money
The AMPANS Foundation has launched the call for entries for the 11th edition of the Award for Research and Innovation in the Field of Intellectual Disability and Developmental Disorders. As a pioneering award in Spain and one of the few in Europe dedicated to advancing research and innovation in this field, it seeks to recognize and promote the work of individuals, teams, and organizations that contribute to improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities.
The award emphasizes the importance of generating knowledge and developing innovative initiatives that directly enhance the quality of life of this population. It is open to works addressing aspects related to Intellectual Disability and/or Developmental Disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning difficulties, communication disorders, and motor disorders.
New in this edition
This edition introduces several significant changes, including the unification into a single category, regardless of whether the submissions focus on research (generating new knowledge in any area of intellectual disability and developmental disorders) or innovation (which involves developing innovative solutions to improve care and quality of life for this population, enhancing service organizations, or designing and implementing new technologies and products with proven feasibility).
Another new feature in this edition is the increase in the prize money, which will be awarded as follows:
• €6,000 for the First Prize
• €4,000 for the Second Prize
• €2,000 for the Third Prize
Terms and conditions of participation
The deadline for submitting entries is November 2nd, 2025. Submissions must be original and unpublished, produced within the last three years prior to the submission date, and may be presented in Catalan, Spanish, English, or French.
The award is open to individuals (participating either individually or as a group) and legal entities, including institutions, universities, and non-profit organizations, based in Europe or Latin America.
The Award for Research and Innovation in the Field of Intellectual Disability and Developmental Disorders is organized with the support of Esteve, ICL Iberia, and Control Group.
