AMPANS has formalized the integration of Icària Iniciatives Socials, a non-profit organization based in Barcelona, into an alliance that reinforces and consolidates a care model with territorial and social impact. This incorporation responds to a shared strategy to ensure the long-term viability of services directed at people with disabilities and those in vulnerable situations, expanding the capacity for action across the territory and generating social value through a collaborative and efficient approach to meet needs.
Icària Iniciatives Socials began discussions with AMPANS with the aim of exploring a way to join the foundation that would allow them to tackle future challenges in the care of people with disabilities and those in vulnerable situations with greater strength and capacity.
With this integration, the AMPANS foundation reaffirms its mission alongside people with intellectual disabilities, their families, professionals, and the entire sector.
The integration in numbers
The union with Icària Iniciatives Socials will allow AMPANS to expand its capacity to care for more than 3,300 users, increase its workforce to 1,328 employees, and generate a greater social impact by incorporating social and labor services in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
United for Inclusion
In the social area, AMPANS incorporates the Taiga Special Education School and the Bogatell Occupational Center. With this union, it also expands its range of social economy businesses with the Icària Gràfiques printing house, Inout Hostel, and the La Fourchette restaurant in the Collserola area.
The alliance also strengthens AMPANS’ capacity to establish new collaborations with businesses and institutions, with social impact programs like Cheers4U, which promotes cohesion and teamwork between companies and their professionals, or Business With Social Value, an annual event that connects businesses with third-sector entities to jointly promote labor insertion.
