Behavioural Disorders National Conference Organizers

The organisation of the Behavioural Disorder National Conference is possible thanks to the strategic alliance of two leading institutions in the social, educational, and Health-care areas: Althaia, AMPANS and the Professorship of Mental Health UVic-Ucc.

This alliance has been decisive in the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and networking to improve the quality of life of people with behavioural disorders and their families.

Althaia Foundation

ALTHAIA is a private non-profit foundation that provides a comprehensive service to people in the health and social fields. It offers primary and hospital care, dependency care, specialised care, sports medicine, and mental health.

ALTHAIA’s mission is to offer these health and social services with quality and efficiency, within the framework of an organisation oriented towards satisfying people’s needs and promoting the technical and human excellence of its professionals.

The mental health resources of the ALTHAIA Foundation respond to the needs of people, and their families, with mental health problems and addictions through different devices at various levels of care: emergencies, hospitalisation of acute and sub-acute patients, hospitals, and day centres. These resources cover Manresa, where the health institution is located, and its area of territorial influence. To cover leisure, work, residential and community integration needs, ALTHAIA runs the innovative Mosaic project.

AMPANS Foundation

AMPANS Foundation is a non-profit organisation of public utility started in 1965 by a group of fathers and mothers with the vocation of giving a public and social dimension to people with intellectual disabilities and working so that they can integrate socially in a normal way.

AMPANS Foundation focuses its actions on a series of values that make it a reference entity in Catalonia in the management of services for people with intellectual disabilities: social inclusion, commitment with the needs of the families, commitment with the new needs of people with intellectual disabilities, guarantee of transparency in the management and ethical conducts, systems of self-evaluation of the quality, innovation and continuous improvement and ecology and respect for the environment.

With more than 40 years of history, the mission of AMPANS continues being the improvement of the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families, creating and managing centres, services, or aids efficiently.
