An App to make life easier

Within the PECT Bagess. Project of life and future.


We are designing and developing a mobile application that allows people with disabilities or elderly dependents to have a direct communication channel that helps them become more autonomous and less dependent. We are developing this project together with the strategic consulting firm Roca&Salvatella, which has helped us detect the needs of the potential users and, together with them, through co-creation workshops, we have defined the functionalities and architecture of the future App.

L’App facilitarà un repositori de serveis de professionals adreçats i especialitzats per donar solució a persones dependents, i disposarà d’una biblioteca de recursos audiovisuals informatius que doni suport en la gestió dels reptes més rellevants de cada col·lectiu i un llistat amb activitats de lleure adaptades. També disposarà d’una àrea privada, adreçada  principalment als familiars de les persones usuàries de la fundació, que permetrà comunicar-se directament amb els equips d’atenció directa i treballadores socials de l’entitat, rebran notificacions sobre incidències de salut, podran consultar la documentació i fitxa mèdica en casos d’urgència, i informació d’activitats o imatges dels seus familiars.

Preveiem finalitzar el disseny i continguts durant l’estiu per a poder iniciar el desenvolupament de l’aplicació a través dels programadors a partir de setembre i presentar l’aplicació a primers de l’any 2023.

Estem convençuts de l’impacte positiu que tindrà l’ús de l’App en la millora de la autonomia de les persones usuàries i en la comunicació amb les famílies.

PECT Bagess is a territorial project born in 2021 and coordinated by the City Council of Manresa with the participation of various social and health entities in the Bages region, with the aim of improving the quality of life and promoting social inclusion of the group of people with dependency and chronic illnesses. An Observatory of Dependence and Chronicity in Bages

Sant Andreu Salut leads the creation of the Observatory of Dependence and Chronicity of Bages, which aims to have accurate and updated knowledge of the health and social needs of the population in the region. It is designed to address all the voices that arise around the dependent and/or chronic person, facilitating information, contact, and meeting points.

Telemedicine for chronic patients

The Eurecat technology center and the Althaia Foundation are collaborating in the design of a telemedicine platform aimed at patients with chronic conditions, especially the elderly. Two use cases have been chosen to monitor two different chronic pathologies. On the one hand, mental disorders and, on the other hand, ischemic heart disease. In the latter case, the platform will be used to monitor a cardiac rehabilitation program.

Statistical analysis of dependency and chronicity

IDIAP Jordi Gol - ICS Catalonia Central is promoting a statistical analysis laboratory for dependency and chronicity in Bages, based on a database that allows the collection and analysis of the most relevant information from the different environments that influence it (health, social, economic, and environmental).

More lines of action

Althaia is also working on the implementation of an internal messaging tool that ensures the security and confidentiality of data, as well as deploying solutions that use artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, the Fundació Universitaria del Bages is developing the "eHealthinking" entrepreneurship platform in the health and social sector, which aims to accelerate the arrival to the market of business ideas in this field.

About PECT BAGESS

Who are we?

The initiative has been promoted by a partnership of seven partner organisations - which are those that receive funding to carry out specific actions - plus four collaborating organisations that support the proposal. The partners are Manresa City Council, AMPANS, Sant Andreu Salut, Althaia Foundation, Eurecat, the Catalan Health Institute (ICS) - Central Catalonia - through the Jordi Gol University Institute for Primary Care Research - and the Bages University Foundation (FUB). The Regional Council of Bages, the Training Consortium Union, the Catalan Association of Associative Based Organisations and the ICT Social Health Foundation also collaborate.

Our objectives

This is a project with a double objective. On the one hand, to improve the quality of life and promote the social inclusion of people with dependency and chronic diseases in a region, Bages, which has a high rate of ageing and over-ageing. On the other hand, to promote the economic transformation and digital transition of the county's public and private health and social care sector to make it more competitive, sustainable, resilient and with quality employment.
